Fairway was founded to solve one of the biggest problems of our time. The high level of youth unemployment in almost all of the developing countries. This is caused by lack of access to better employment and we believe one of the key challenges is that it stems from the way new employees and recruitment are perceived risky and resource consuming.
Why we founded Fairway
Africa’s working-age population is expected to soar by 450 million people, or close to 70 percent, by 2035. The current state of recruitment is manual and paper based, and advertised in billboards. It’s not Fair. Sources: World Economic Forum, The Africa competitiveness report 2017 PWC, the Future of Recruiting
Recruitment is one of the crucial bottlenecks in the unemployment problem and without better recruitment tools and processes the world will struggle to build more sustainable employment. Currently an average growing business in the African Continent is struggling with multitude of problems in the recruitment including having too many unqualified candidates, paper based candidate data that is mostly irrelevant or incomplete, unverified credentials and unfair processing of the candidates such as nepotism, discrimination and corruption
